I can attest to that.

I worked for the Texas state prison system for about 11 years. I was pepper sprayed once while in the midst of a use of force. I was tied up w/ an inmate on the floor trying to restrain him when I heard the Lt. shout "Gas him!"

I barely had time to turn my head and close my eyes.

The pepper spray got all over both me and the convict.

I was effectively blind. I couldn't breathe worth a damn. Of course, neither could the inmate. So, there were two guys, both blind and unable to breathe, rolling around on the ground trying to fight one another.

As they say in the pen....."Pepper spray ain't no punk."
