well, yesterday evening's commute i had my first flat while commuting in over 1 year - more than 5000km of non-flat commuting! there was road construction and the road was all torn up with exposed deep streetcar tracks and other stuff that i rode through - i found the culprit which was a large construction size metal staple and BOTH ends cut through the rear tire, the Mr.Tuffy liners and the tube. P.S. Mr Tuffies are great for commuting where the weight penalty is OK!

fortunately this was right at my destination - i was helping a friend move and carry boxes - so i had a place to wash up after getting all dirty fixing it - actually my spare tube had a hole in it so i got a new tube from my friend (also cyclist) and will repair the other 2 later.

this morning's commute was the worst in a while - i'm currently sick and it was misting/foggy and my glasses were fogged up and i couldn't see and i was all dizzy and i felt like i was floating and just had no energy for the ride. ALTHOUGH, i think i felt better after riding and it perked me up a little. otherwise work would have been a nightmare.
