Adidas "Team." or "Team Adidas." They come in a wide range of uppers. I have one that is a tough nylon mesh, and another that is leather like a soccer shoe or an actual vintage cycling shoe. We would have called them "track shoes" back when I was in high school, in the late Varsity/Vietnam War/Democratic Convention era. I find them very comfortable on GR-9, Campy C-record, Lyotard Berthet, and Shimano 600 pedals, all with toe clips and straps. The leather ones are a little better for winter, not being porous mesh.

Have rubber soles but they are pretty stiff. The soles are smooth so you can slip your foot into and out of the pedal and toe clip easily, even with the strap set a bit snugly.
