Eek, that reminds me of the perceived horror in my town growing up when kids would get a "hand brake bike" for the first time - apparently some kids refused to adapt and kept smashing into stuff. My son was very slow to learn to use a coaster brake, so for him adding a front brake was the only way to ensure that he could stop!
