25MM is the smallest I'd go.
So- multiply your inner rim width by 1.25 and I'd call that the MINIMUM tire size.
Don't know if that helps, or you just want smoother fat tires??
Thanks that helps. I want a smoother tire but not too narrow because that would look weird with 29er geometry. Looks like my rims are 23mm so does that work out to roughly a 700x28 minimum using your 1.25 multiplier?
