I just got a blackspire chainring, 144bcd 3/32 51t. It looks great, weighs in at 200g on my scale although I don't know if that's light or heavy for chainring. edit: I was kind enough to take me miche ring off and weigh it. Miche is 95g. So since the blackspire ring is twice the weight I'll likely drill some holes in it to cut that down and give it more flare.
I am using it to replace my miche advanced primato 47t chainring. The biggest differences I notice so far without having installed it yet is that the blackspire is just a flat piece of aluminum, where as the Miche has lots of different shapes on the back like this

this site has FSA rings for cheap. Here is a 45t for $53. I didn't see a 44t but you can check again. They have a great customer service department too for both phone and email.
