A trick I saw in the 41 forum to remember the bike being on the roof rack is to rig a string (good stout string, weather resistant) through a tennis ball. Use enough string length so that the ball hangs down to the top few inches of the windshield when hung from the bicycle's handle bars. There is also a reminder device made but I can't remember what it is called.
