That happened last year too. The apps did not go live until the day before the race I think.

If it's the same as last year, it had live streaming and taped. Live started the race with the European commentators and then it switched to Paul and Phil at 8 am. Don't know about this year though.

But yes, I only used the iPad to watch the tour. It had some cool tacking features and great pics and videos too.
