How much should I save for my first, loaded bicycle tour:
Good day:
I am looking at striking out on my first long - distance bicycle touring. I'll be travelling from Texas to, either, California or New Jersey. While figures can fluctuate significantly, I was told by an experience long - distance bicycle tourist that I should look at saving around $5 thousand. That figure includes buying a new frame in the event that my current vintage Univega MTB frame breaks.
I look forward to any information from experienced bike tourists.
