Two reasons he rides the Domane...well three.
1. He is getting very well paid to ride it.
2. He is as fast on it compared to the Madone....likely faster on rough surfaces.
It serves no purpose for Trek to put Sparticus on a slower bike to get beat.
Best answer: Marketing. The guy is unbelievably powerful and he did beat everybody but one in the first stage so I guess the Domane is a fast bike...well with him on it at least.
