If you miss the beginning and middle, you miss a lot. It's hard to understand the ending in context without that. You also miss whose domestiques are looking particularly strong, who's ducking, etc. etc. etc.
It's fine if you don't have the time or the interest, but let's not pretend 'nothing happens'. It's not baseball.
I put watching cycling on TV just above golf and baseball but just below soccer in terms of sporting excitement. I have been to plenty of baseball games in person, but have never watched an entire game on TV.
