Inform your local police department about your suspicions and why you have them...Don't do any business with these Craigslist people at all.

Get the name of the police department that handles these types of matters and write down the name of the officer in charge. Inform that police officer that you will be returning your phone call in a few weeks to get an update.

If not satisfied with police response, don't bother. Move on!
