I am trying to put an old SR Apex crankset on a Schwinn High Plains mountain bike for a commuter for my daughter. It has a 123 mm spindle. I need approximately 9 mm more length for sufficient clearance. Both appear to be the JIS taper but both the left and drive side hit the chain stays. I can't seem to find anything longer than 127 mm. Any ideas?
