Once, when my motorcycle lost traction in a low speed turn, I remember as I fell, suddenly, I was aware the my field of view was shifting around. I realized I had my helmet on and it was moving in relation to my head. "That's cool." I thought to myself. It didn't prevent any catastrophic injury, but I'm willing to bet that my face would have resembled hamburger, getting dragged along the asphalt that way.
