BTW - I like the range on my compact w/ 11-28 cogset, but there are some big gaps between gears at the big end of the cassette. the 30 would be even worse. I'd go 11-28 for climbing, since that seems to be what you are after, and keep the old cassette for if you want to do a flat ride.
