It doesn't matter that you are big-ring with biggER cogs though, just not good to be all the way crossed.
If you want lower or higher gear ranges, go for it, but if you are just not liking your chain position, and you aren't completely cross-chained, I would just forgettaboutit.
Thank you. I can trim it out on the large ring so it doesn't make noise. I just saw the chain in a "less than straight" position and it had me worried. I'll pay more attention to exactly where I am most comfortable on my next ride. I was a little distracted last night, between getting used to the bike, the brifters, seat position, etc etc etc. This is a far cry better than what I was riding, but it's going to take some time to get used to.
