If your left back muscle acts up in a day or two, you might want to visit a physical therapist familiar with sports injuries.
Quite often if an injury is debilitating enough, you compensate your posture to favor the injury and in the process, injury a muscle or ligament that you are not used to using. A skilled physical therapist, or coach, can guide you to proper recovery without injuring yourself differently in the process.
