Trayer350 (and Dobber, too) what if, instead of a kid, it had been a 4"X 4" piece of lumber that had fallen off a truck that was in your lane....would you have been able to avoid it? If you came around a curve at the posted speed and nearly collided with a cyclist, then both you and the local authorities are at fault....you for driving into conditions you can't see, and them for posting a speed too fast for the sightlines. Slow down when you come to a curve you can't see far enough around, and tell the local authorities to fix that dangerous spot by pruning the trees if they can or by posting a lower speed.
