That reminded me of a story the builder of our first (and until this Thursday only) tandem told me. A customer insisted that his tandem be built for a stoker who was taller than his wife. Sure enough, a few months after the tandem was built the customer divorced his wife and his new partner just happened to be the perfect size for the new tandem.
