Dozens of times over the years I passed Phil Gaimon while training when I was on a hard day and he was on an easy day. No way am I anywhere near his level as a bike racer now or even when I was young.
We do have a lot of segment hunters here and some pretty strong riders, by looking at their times when hunting versus my times while training allows me to see where I stand, for comparison purposes only, as I get back into shape. I find this especially helpful when looking at climbs as I am not a climber, still fair pretty well though.
