I have to ride from work to the one of the group rides I go on and it's about 3.5 miles to get there, and I make a point to try to get there in about 15 minutes, so I won't be late, and that seems to be just about enough to get me warmed up to ride with this group. So whatever that is--I have no computer, so I just guesstimate distances with Mapquest or Yahoo Maps and figure my time with my watch. This group is one of the 16-18mph average ones, so I know I have to be prepared to get my scurry on.

I'm 28 and asthmatic. Most of the time my asthma behaves itself--it's triggered by animal dander, so if I'm out of the house, away from the cats, I'm best off anyway! When I am having asthma and allergy problems it can take longer to warm up, 5+ miles, and on some unfortunate days, I can't seem to get into the groove at all.
