So, the brakeset would be appropriate for '69 if there was no lettering on the arms? Cool - and I know I can do that. I had to do it on the two sets of brakes in which I drilled slots in the arms, and it worked great

So, forget about using Universal 68s? If so, I only need to fudge the front derailleur, clean up the rear derailleur and fake the brake calipers. Sorted!
