Anything but Continental. Very, very, very disappointed with them. Even the old Top Touring weren't all that great now that I think about them. Continentals tend to fit very loosely on the wheel and thus you have to be very careful about how much pressure you put in them. I've blown off the Top Touring when pumping them to the rated pressure and I've had a set of folding 37mm Contacts that blew out 4 times which just happened to be the number of tubes I had. After having to hitch a ride and restarting my tour, I had to keep the tires inflated to no more than 70 PSI to keep from blowing them off. These were rated to 90 PSI but I couldn't even get close to that without suffering failure.
On my latest tour, I decided that the Michelin Lithion tires that had served me for around 1500 miles pretour and about 800 miles on glass strewn roads on tour might be showing too much wear so I bought a set of 35mm Contacts even though I had reservations from my previous experience. Less than 200 miles later, I happen to hit a rock and the casing split. This is what it looked like
The inner casing wasn't cut but I wasn't thrilled about trusting a tire like this on a 40 mph downhill so I replaced with a heavy Bell tire from HellMart. The sad part of the story is that I really wanted to try Schwalbe tires (I haven't yet) but the store that I bought the tires from didn't have their shipment in when I needed new tires
