Personal choice I guess based on needs and preference?

For me:

I love the full free float and have zero (pun intended) need to limit it. Personally I don't understand any need to limit float but that why they make the others for those that do.

I prefer the simplicty of the X series cleats. Prefer no additonal moving parts, adjustments needed or screws, etc. Less places for dirt , less to need cleaning and lubing etc. Very KISS kinda person.

I prefer the spring retention of the X series over the stamped steel C Clip. I think it works better, wears better and is basically a better idea.

I'm perfectly fine with the tension on the X series. I think they clip in very smoothly and easily and of course , clip out with virtually no effort. Again, seems odd that one would need less but if you do , then you have an option.

It 'appears' to me that the body with out color filler added may be more durable. They seem to just wear better than the 'colored' bodies used on the others models when compared to people I ride with who ride similar mileage. It could just be that the wear is less obvious but it looks as though its more than just that. This is just an opinion.

Lastly I guess, I've been on Xs literally since they came out. I actually still have a pair somewhere that are all metal one piece bodies, I don't even think they were called Xs then. Never seen another like them. They go back that far.

Ultimately, I think the Xs are pretty much ideal just as they are. I just wouldn't be interested in any of the other models even if they are all the same price.
