IMHO presta just work better. When changing tubes when you put the stem in and put on the nut on it holds the tube in place. It wont go crooked like shrader stems. Also with the nut on the presta stem when you put the pump on it doesnt push down inside the tire.
Unfortunately my new Michelin tubes with presta stems aren't threaded for nuts.
