Problems with a rear wheel hub
Hi all,
I recently posted about a bottom bracket removal post and how to do this etc.. Anyway I have now successfully replaced a worn BB. The next bit of maintenance I was going to carry out was on my Free hub as it seemed a bit rough when the wheel was turning. Anyway this morning I went to use my bike and the hub just slips when pedaling forward (the back wheel doesn't turn).
The hub I have is the following: Shimano FH-RM65-8 CL (this is taken from the original specs of my bike) I have looked online to see if I can find tech sheets etc or something that helps me remove it - fix if possible or just replace. The only one I can find is the following: FH-M815 / FH-M810, the diagram and look of the hub do look identical. It mentions using a 15mm Hex Key to remove it, is it really that simple? Is it possible to fix the freehub? or am I better just replacing it? or even just buying another wheel?
Thanks in advance
Chris
