yup, cable stretch is one thing, but as for putting a bunch of bags on a newish bike for a trip, make sure you ride it a fair amount and have someone check the spoke tensions. I dont really have a proper number to suggest but I certainly wouldnt want to head out on a loaded trip on virgin-esque wheels.
