I absolutely took most of this advice. I understand that the bug spray seems like overkill, but West Nile scares me and I tend to get bit up a lot. I'd rather be safe than sorry, but I think I'll apply it before I leave and just leave it in the car.

This is my bike all set up and ready to go tonight--everything I am carrying fits in a backpack so if my elaborate rack system fails, I can just leave the crate behind.
