If it has no flutes on the shaft, no hole through the lower clamp pivot and has the all steel clamps, it's either a "Record" or the earliest versions of the "Nuovo Record" seatpost. Some people actually like the idea of having the stronger steel clamps, not that there's really any evidence that the later aluminum versions have any problems with failures. The posts in used condition do not really go for that much money anyway as there's lots of them for sale/auction out there all the time. Although sometimes there are speculators out there that seem to think that an NOS one in a box should be $200+ bucks so they end up sitting on them for a long time.....so price your post carefully/appropriately. You can get a baseline price to work with from finished auction final bids at Ebay for similar seatposts.
