Click..click...click from front of bike under pressure. Any advice?

Hello all,

I ride a 2010 Roubaix (carbon) with just over 3000 miles on it. Recently a noise has developed that is quite annoying on longer rides. When under pressure from pedaling (not when coasting) a fairly loud 'click...click...click' sounds once per pedal rotation from the front of the bike. My first though was a chain link or a bad cassette tooth but all look fine. The sound seems to come from the handlebar/front wheel area and if I take my weight off the handlebars it goes away.

I have:

Checked the drivetrain - all OK
Tightened the head stem
Tightened the handlebar mount
Checked the front wheel hub - no play
Checked tire - OK

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I would look at the bottom bracket but it requires tools that I dont have and I believe its sealed bearing anyways.

Any ideas welcome.

Thanks!
