Got the fixed cup off. It was indeed Swiss. Soaking the adjustable cup in WD-40, from inside and out, and going to have another go at it tomorrow. If I can non-destructively remove the cups, this BB can be re-used, the races are fine.
Interesting, the white "stripes" on the downtube and seat tube are decals too. That may be hard to find.
In addition to tire wear on one chain stay and chain dings on thr other, there are a few spots of rust - bottom of the BB shell, at one rear drop out, etc. Maybe 1/2" big at most. I think I will treat those with rust converter and then touch up paint.
This is a project bike I am fixing up for a friend, so I am being a little particular about it. I don't want him to take it to a LBS someday and hear them say "jeez what a bodged up junker who worked on this".
