Most of me wants to like it. High end 70's and 80's racing bikes are my favorite. But it just looking at that glossy catalog brought up so many old memories that I had not visited since I last saw a Bottecchia.
As for turning a profit, yeah, it was impossible. I would bet it took about 10 hours per bike to get the build done. At least they went together easily, Campy always just glides onto a frame. But the wheel building and frame prep just ate up the hours. We were kind of stupid about some things, too. We glued the tires, and drilled the handlebars for the brake levers. I would not do that nowadays!
Anyway, I guess it is time to forgive. I do like your bike. Perhaps I even had a hand in building it if you bought it from the California Pedaler in Pleasanton CA in the late 80's.
