I used to be on this forum a few years back. I forgot my old contact info, so I just created a new account. Several years ago, I had a terrible terrible dooring accident, almost died, was in the hospital for several months, massive amounts of rehab, was in wheelchair, etc.. It was life changing, if not life ending. in the course of the accident, my $3k Felt F1 road bike became a weaponized pretzel.

It was a fantastic bike. I'd like to get back to riding again, I miss it terribly. I'm not nearly in the shape I was a few years ago (ironically, it was the fact that I had excellent cardio endurance from years of cycling that saved my life--people who lose 30 units of blood in one night usually don't survive until the next morning). Right now, I'm 1.90 meters, 108 kg. I'd love to get bak to about 80 kg again.

I puts around town (Chicago) in a 10 year old Univega road bike. I'd love to save up for a really nice road bike again. What do people recommend? for 2K? $3K? My Felt F1 had a scandium frame, which I understand is no longer being made.
