I thought just the steer tubes of the early SC were 26tpi. Some of the BB's were 26 too?

Ugh.

Maybe I need to cross off the earlier SC's off of the list for possible framesets with my next city bike build. I don't mind messing with a 26tpi headset or grinding some of the lower threads off of the upper race and using the top nut -but if I can't put a standard cartridge BB that would suck.
