Maybe this was God, or just a random act of kindness, or both idk. It's just nice to be surprised by something with no expectations of something in return.
Making the extra effort to be a decent human being has a way of coming full circle (as does being a total turd, but that is another subject).
Recently helped an elderly fella who had locked himself out of and his panicked dog into his truck I noticed when I rode up to work.
Got a hanger and popped it open (no big deal) and the guy was profoundly grateful and we struck up a conversation about my bike.
He told me he used to ride before having a severe stroke and was about to take his old bike to the dump to make room in his shed and I could have it if I wanted it.
I said sure, expecting a dead old Huffy but when I got to his place the next day he gave me this....
