I also find that as long as its warm sandels are the best kind of footwear. If it rains my feet won't melt, if its hot they stay cool, and I only need one pair of socks in my bag when I get to work. If you stop moving and don't have a change of clothes however getting cold is likely. I was shivering on a summer day not so long ago because of the rain/humidity and an enforced stop.
That is a new idea to me - sandals on the bike. I could see that being useful for warm and rainy. We haven't had much rain this summer, but my plan has been (if it ever rains) to wear my old beat-up yard work shoes that I don't care about for the wet ride. But the sandals ideas has me thinking.... I might have to do a test run around the neighborhood and see if I like riding with sandals at all. Thanks for the idea - that is useful to consider.
