Amateur cyclists aren't cheating to win a $3 trophy. They're cheating for the same reason football players cheat. Or baseball players. Or anyone else is most contexts, but particularly an athletic context. Your post pinned this on upper middle class white type A. There is doping around the world at all levels of sports and in all sports.
