You can see it has a very sloped, minimal "7". The grips are already behind the steering column.
I'm trying to avoid toe overlap, while having a fully upright "Dutch" riding position. Not an easy proposition with the American men's bikes available today.
I wonder if there would be a difference in steering between reversing the quill and using the stock handlebars -- versus changing to longer, more swept back handlebars?
Let's say my actual hand position is exactly identical for both. It's just a question of how the metal is curving around to connect to the steering column.
I'm not that good at figuring out, like, Newtonian lines of force and junk. Geometry class or something. Was that after smoking pot at lunch in high school? Or was that Home Ec? How come there's all girls in this class and they're giggling at me. What corridor am I in.
Have you considered buying a Dutch bike? For a little more than the price of the Raleigh, you could have one of these
http://www.dutchie-bikes.com/dutchie-dapper.html shipped "all the way from the Netherlands" to your door. (I don't know if they are any good but found it on a Google search)
