Bikes: Pugsley, fixie commuter, track bike

Skinny tires work fine, I ride 23 on one of my bikes and I'm 220. If you keep the tire pressures in check then the chance of pinch flat is quite low, believe me I hit plenty of pot holes. The biggest disadvantage seems to be a slightly greater tendency to get caught in a pavement crack or groove running parallel to your direction of travel. If my bikes had clearance for wider tires and fenders I think 28 are probably the best compromise.
