Many 2 wheel trailers attach to the left axle end,
the BoB, and the Xtra wheel use a QR-ish skewer ,
so the plastic frame is not directly effected.

have a look around for alternate hitches instead of a clamp
onto the carbon chainstays..

Can't speak to the frame getting beat up in shipping to
or returning from the trip, in a box.
