It still feels kind of tender, but I can't tell if I'm just making it up, or if it really does still feel like that. I couldn't sleep at all last night, so the fatigue may have something to do with that. I'm also still fairly short of breath, which does have me a little concerned.

I definitely pushed myself, but it wasn't like I was doing anything that extreme. It's very possible that since I was with a group much faster than I usually ride, I just wasn't aware of how hard I was actually going.

Going to take the next few days off, and probably schedule an appointment just to check things out. I'd much rather be seen as a hypochondriac than the alternative.

Poor heart rate recovery, tenderness or muscle aches, shortness of breath and a family history of heart disease.

I would schedule an immediate appointment with your cardiologist right away. He may even recommend you go to the hospital now if you are really that worried. They can at least do a blood test to make sure you didn't suffer a heart attack.
