I was actually just thinking how I'd like to own one of the pink T-Mobile Giant TCRs. A cool bike with a very distinct paint job. And as for carbon parts, I don't think that they have a reduced lifespan, except for the carbon outer guide on Campy front derailleurs - to me that's just a stupid use of carbon. The thing about wear items like chains, cassettes, and bearings is that they'll be available for the foreseeable future (well, Shimano at least); you can buy pretty much any chain that you could possibly want and new 8/9/10 speed cassettes are readily available. I don't think that cartridge bearings for most applications will be all that rare as a lot of them(?) are standard sizes used for applications in and out of cycling. Even amongst C&V types, how many folks really care about NOS wear items? My guess is pretty few.
