Bikes: two wheeled ones

It's depressing when you go out training hard, and realize that while you want to die doing your Tabatas, your "ON" wattage is the same as some people's FTP. And not even pros or anything, just local guys.

My on wattage for Tabata averages about 400W or so. That's only 4.3 W/kg or so. My 5 sec and 1 min don't even register on the e-wang. My 5 minute and 20 minute barely make it into "untrained" category.

Granted, I've only been back on the bike for 4 months now, but it's still depressing. Did you guys start out being slow? I feel like even the guys at the track I'm racing against, who have no clue what they're doing and are usually hung over, are so much stronger than me, and I'm actually training.
