You seem to know generally what you're talking about, but if you believe the above sentence to be true you've either been out of clinical nursing a bit too long or you're endulging in "fake but accurate" argumentation which seems a bit beneath someone with your credentials.
Drug companies cannot give us INK PENS with their companies name on it as it constitutes gift giving and that is OUTLAWED. If physicians accept consultant fees but cannot prove they provided the service, they will be heavily fined and face the possibility of jail time.
Life in this business is hard enough without catching slack from folks who don't know the facts or choose to ignore them for ideologic reasons.
