HAHA!
I went back today, because I got a trailer for our 3 year old, and my 5'3" wife can't pull it up hills. I attached it to my road bike, but it was a little hairy with braking downhill at speed.
I talked to the sales guy, told him my plight, but that I didn't want to spend much money on a kid hauler.
Quicks run small compared to other bikes. He had 2012s and 2013s all over the shop now. I thought that maybe a CX4 would make sense. I took it out and freaking hated it. The knobby tires increase stability dramatically, but they also reduce handling and have way too high rolling resistance. Plus, the disc brakes don't have the initial bite v brakes do (to me).
I jumped on a large regular 2013 Quick 4, and I loved it, but the stem was a tiny bit short. For fun, he swapped out the stem, then I tell him I still don't want to spend that much, and that REI still does the 10% dividend on bikes and still has 2012s. So he offers me the 2013 Quick 4 at the 2012 REI price minus 10% immediately, or $567.
You sho better believe I have that sucker in my car right now!
