Kryptonite Std or the evo mini?

Hi everybody
I am in need of a new lock, my masterlock u lock currently will jam and at times I feel like I just have to leave my own bike wherever I locked it at

Anyways I am looking at the two Kryptonite u locks, the mini and the standard NYC. From what I understand they are both quality locks, I was just wondering if I can have some opinions to which one is best for me.
I commute just about everyday. I live in a pretty big sized city, although it is not a major city (SF, NY, LA, Chicago) and when I leave my bike somewhere its usually in average places (not too bad with crime). Although I must point out that my city is known for most car thefts in America if that makes any difference.

I will use it to go to college, and also wherever else I need to make a stop at. The max time I will leave the bike unattended is for about 1-2 hours. I also use a cable to wrap the tires around together. My usual locking method is to put it through the rear triangle and the rear tire + the post.

The kryptonite NY std speaks for itself, I know that it is 2nd in top end locks. Its similar to the fahgettaboutit and does the job very well.

I like how the evo mini is so small that it is convenient and could just fit in your back pocket and easily store it away
Also that its strong and durable.

My two concerns for each lock are:
U lock evo mini: if it is simply too short for and not usable in alot of scenerios.
If I will be able to secure the bike well enough to know that it is protected pretty good.

Kryptonite NY Std: That its 2x heavier.
harder to store while I'm riding.
If it is not necessary to have an overkill for the scenarios that I will be using it for.

I also will point out that its in the 100+ during the summer, and I try to not carry a backpack at all times if it is not needed. So much sweat
