I've thought about the fahgettaboudit, but the size and weight ratio seems a bit too much for me. If I lived in the bay area I would do the same though.
The sheldon brown method does not lock the frame with the U lock does it?

This is pretty much how Im locking up, with a cord going through the front wheel and u lock as well. (minus the second u lock)
Thats also pretty much the thickest post I imagine using.
