I don't have any u-lock actually but that is that is the method I have been intending to use for when I do buy a u-lock. I am in the same conundrum you are in. I hate the thought of spending that much on a hunk of metal but I would also hate to lose my bike. Which would I hate more? Losing the bike for sure but still can't see fit to drop a hundo on a good lock. I have a cheapo cable lock right now that is relegated to hanging on my top tube because I don't trust it to be secure but don't want to be left without at least something just in case. I never stop between work and home but I want to start hitting the market on the way home. Guess I need a u-lock huh? Any suggestions?
