Yes, not rocket science, even I can do it. Shop overhead makes that a tough situation to overcome. They may try, but then fail because of business exigencies (can't afford to take the time). My re-entry into cycling, the shop just plain pissed me off repeatedly, and that's how I got started with DIY.
