My used Cannondale Bad Boy came with a set of the combo platform / SPD pedals. At forst I only used the platform side, but noticed that my normal athletic shoes (Adidas) were giving me sore feet since they were too flexible. Some research got me into the various companies that offer a walkable SPD-compatible shoe, which led me to purchase a pair of DZR Mamba shoes. The Mambas are working out great, stiff enough to prevent sore feet and I find that clipping in/out is becoming automatic and easy. Here are some of the shoe companies that I was looking at, maybe one of them will have something that fits your foot: DZR, Chrome, 5 Ten, Specialized, Pearl Izumi, Keen.
